Bette Blance
Bette lived and worked in Queensland for 34 years as a classroom teacher, deputy principal, and education consultant, and at Griffith University lecturing in teacher education.
Bette's experience with the work of Dr. William Glasser began in 1982 when as a classroom teacher on the Gold Coast in Australia she was invited to be a facilitator of a significant Professional Development Program in Queensland, Australia based on the work of William Glasser and Madeline Hunter. Since that time Bette has become an instructor with William Glasser International, is a WGI International Board member, and is the Chair of the WGI Glasser Quality School committee.
Along with a business partner Bette developed the Glasser Australia - endorsed program Excellence in Teaching and Collegial Coaching programs which have been presented in schools in Australia and New Zealand. Bette has applied these ideas as a classroom teacher and as a lead manager in her role as Deputy Principal.
She brings to an organization a depth of knowledge of bringing about change from external control, relying on rewards and punishment, to Choice Theory psychology and working in noncoercive ways to bring about internally driven change.
